Middle Manager of Justice
Superheroes are all well and good, but they need guidelines and objectives like the rest of us. And that’s where you come in. Taking the role of Middle Manager of Justice, it’s your job to whip a motley crew of superheroes into shape. Will you succeed? Or will your team get fed up with your meddling ways?
Get in on Murray mania with this pick-up-and-play tennis game. It’s a doddle to get started, but fiendishly difficult to master, as you battle the likes of Pete Sampras, Boris Becker, and – yes – even the man Andy Murray himself. Anyone who’s played its stablemate Stick Cricket will tell you how addictive the game play is.
Temple Run 2
On the surface, this isn’t that different from the original, with more running, jumping, turning and sliding. But that’s no bad thing, seeing as its predecessor was downloaded 170 million times. There’s also new obstacles, more power-ups and achievements, and each character has a special power. Oh, and there’s a bigger monkey as well.
Despicable Me: Minion Rush
You’ve seen the film, now play the game. You take the role of one of Gru’s Minions in a series of fast-paced challenges in this frantic platformer. If you want to win the title of Minion of the Year, you’ll have to fly, dodge obstacles, collects bananas, and defeat foes. All in a day’s work.
Well, it’s basically Scalextric. Controls don’t get much simpler than this: hold your finger down to accelerate… and that’s it. But go too fast and you’ll spin off. At least in this version you won’t have to run round and put the car back on yourself.
The future of the console franchise is up in the air, but even if there isn’t another instalment, this mobile game will more than suffice. With full voice acting and a movie-quality score, it’s every bit as engrossing – not to mention terrifying – as its console equivalent. Better keep the lights on while you play.
Clash of Clans
If you thought strategy games were all a bit dull and serious, played by men in anoraks, check out Clash of Clans. You’ll have to train your own army and build a village, but the cartoony graphics and fast-paced action mean it’s anything but a chore.
Trial Xtreme 3
With 96 courses, customisable bikes and riders, and a host of social media and multiplayer options, the latest in the trial biking series is the best yet. Dodge mines, water pipes, wrecked cars and more, and all while humming the theme tune to Kick Start.
Fast & Furious 6: The Game
This game is set in London, though doesn’t involve sitting in traffic jams, thankfully. Instead you race around, earning money and respect, and pull off audacious robberies in the new heist mode. You can also upgrade your cars, from the 1970s Dodge Charger to modern-day super cars. Every man’s dream.
The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Homer has accidentally caused a nuclear meltdown that’s wiped out Springfield, and it’s your job to rebuild it. Along the way you’ll have to find the rest of Homer’s family and friends, party with Duffman at the Duff Brewery, and enjoy a host of new gags from the show’s writers.
